Gateway to Egypt Vision 2030: A Talk by Egypt CEO Mohamed Fayed, 21 September

The UAESBC is honored to host Mr Mohamed Abbas Fayed, Country CEO (Egypt) of First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), as our featured speaker on 21st September as part of our Quarterly Talk Series. The talk is sponsored by FAB and open to UAESBC members and FAB guests only. FAB is the United Arab Emirate’s largest bank and one of the world’s largest and safest financial institutions. In Egypt, after FAB’s merger with Bank Audi Egypt, FABMISR has become one of the largest foreign banks operating in the Egyptian market with assets of over EGP185 bn (equivalent to USD10 bn) as of Q1 of 2022 operating with 69 branches and 207 ATMs.

In this exclusive by-invite-only session, Mr Fayed will share his experience and expertise on the topic of "Gateway to Egypt, Land of Opportunities". The speaker will touch on the latest economic developments in the country as well as important aspects of Vision 2030. Mr Fayed will also discuss the developing synergies and business opportunities between Egypt and Singapore.

About the Speaker:

Mohamed Abbas Fayed is the Country CEO in at Egypt First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the UAE’s largest bank. Fahad is also the Chairman of the Foreign Banks’ Committee and Board member at FAB Capital.

Mohamed Abbas Fayed, an expert with over 30 years of experience in corporate banking, joined Bank Audi Egypt in October 2019. He led key local and multinational banks in Egypt, including Banque Misr and Misr International Bank before merging with National Societe General Bank (NSGB).


Prior to joining FAB, Fayed played a key role in restructuring plans and managed landmark transactions, resulting in over EGP 300 billion in investments. In 2015, he was appointed as the CEO of Bank Audi Egypt, boosting the bank's performance for four years.


Fayed has an academic background in Commerce, Accounting, and finance, and has experience in project finance, syndicated loans, acquisition finance, corporate bonds, securitization, restructuring, and Islamic finance. He is a board member in the Egyptian Sovereign Fund and the Internal Trade Development Authority.
