The UAE Singapore Business Council is proud to present our 6th annual flagship event the UAE Investment Workshop 2023. This year’s topic is “Dubai as a Global Trading Hub”. The event will feature renowned agencies and companies from both the UAE and Singapore who provide key services for Singapore companies to conduct a trading business in Dubai. The workshop will also feature a panel discussion with Singapore companies who have extensive trading experience in the Emirate of Dubai.

	Mr Leonard Thangavelu, PBM is currently the Chief Representative of Dubai Chambers International Office – Singapore. Leonard has more than 30 years of experience in specialized management in International Trade and Commerce, Manufacturing, Information Technology and Supply-Chain sectors to companies across MENA, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North and South America. He has successfully managed and grown businesses domestically and internationally with a particular interest in International Trade and Commerce in the MENA region. His diverse commercial and technical background equips him with a deep understanding expanding an organization in their international aspirations, in particular, to the UAE.
	Sudheesh Nambiath, serving as the Manager for Precious Metals at DMCC, plays a crucial role in enhancing DMCC's position as a premier business hub and attracting fresh enterprises to the free zone. Sudheesh journey started as a derivatives trader in the commodities market in 2005, leading him to diverse roles in commodities such as physical trading, research analysis, policy advisory, and market regulation and development. Over 14 years, Sudheesh worked with esteemed organizations including MF Global and Thomson Reuters and contributed significantly to the reforms in India as Head of India Gold Policy Centre at IIM Ahmedabad before assuming his current role at DMCC.
	Shailender Kidambi is a highly accomplished professional with a wealth of experience spanning 18 years in the financial sector, renowned for his exceptional expertise in effectively managing end-to-end operations in Trade Finance, Cash Management, and Lending. Throughout his career, Shailender has played essential roles at international financial institutions such as HSBC and Barclays Bank, where his strategic acumen in Sales, Relationship Management, and Product Management across the Cash, Trade, and Asset businesses propelled him to the forefront of the finance industry. In June 2011, Shailender assumed a significant role at Emirates NBD, a testament to his remarkable capabilities in orchestrating seamless business operations and delivering sustained success in the ever-evolving financial landscape.
	Ahmed Madkour is the founder and director of Recovery Advisers, a firm with roots in the UAE, whose speciality is in the recovery of international commercial receivables. He leads a group of companies with offices in Dubai, Riyadh, and Cairo, among others. Ahmed has earned four academic degrees, namely in law, business, economics, and software engineering. He is also a specialist in mediation, alternative dispute resolution, as well as the restructuring of a variety of trade finance solutions. Ahmed regularly features as a speaker, lecturer, and discussion panellist on the topic of credit insurance, claims and recoveries management, as well as enforcement of contractual rights.
