UAE Singapore Business Council First Anniversary Charity Gala Dinner

The UAE Singapore Business Council (UAESBC) celebrated its First Anniversary by organising a Charity Gala Dinner on 23rd August at the Grand Ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel. The Council raised a total of $35,000 for the chosen charity, Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS). This included donations of $25,000 and $10,000 proceeds of a silent auction conducted that evening. The UAESBC was established in March 2018 with the mission of “promoting, supporting and enhancing the development of commerce and business initiatives between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore.” The Patron of MINDS, Dr Cheong Choong Kong, and its Chairman, Captain Roger Loh, received a mock cheque from the Patron of the UAESBC, HE Dr Mohamed Omar Balfaqeeh, and the UAESBC President, Dr Brian Shegar. The dinner was attended by almost 200 UAESBC members, their guests as well as strategic partners and supporters of the UAESBC. The dinner was featured on28th August 2019 edition of The Business Times.
