The United Arab Emirates is the second largest economy in the Middle East, and the leading regional business hub for international businesses. Since the beginning of 2020, COVID-19 has been the main challenge facing the world which had a great impact on the global economy. Governments and businesses have been striving to limit the negative impact of this pandemic, each within its limits and capabilities. The UAE adopted a broad approach based on a collaboration between scientists, researchers, business leaders and the government. At the time when many countries decided to close borders and look inwards, the UAE was one of the first to open up and extend a helping hand to many nations. These actions were accompanied by bold incentives for the business community and the people living in the UAE among which are: the announcement of allowing 100% ownership of businesses for foreign investors, the Golden Visa scheme and many more initiatives and programs that aim to boost confidence in local markets and boost the country’s economic diversification plan.
The UAE Embassy in Singapore, in collaboration with UAE Singapore Business Council (UAESBC) and Enterprise Singapore, aims to shed light on these major developments in the UAE ecosystem, and hopes to provide interested businesses and entrepreneurs with sufficient up-to-date information and answer any queries they might have in a session with reputable agencies and stakeholders from the UAE.
